HyperOptics

This retail interior project was the second location for Hyperoptics, and their team was looking for something longer lasting. Our design was influenced by its location on the lively Haight St shopping corridor by bringing in color, whimsy, and a nod to the element of celebrity – all wearing glasses, of course. The empty space was filled with a palette of custom wood and steel elements: steel frames around back-lit mirrors, steel desks, walnut display shelves, an uneven wall of mixed woods, and a huge redwood slab table under oversize shade pendants. Two round button-tufted benches were made for hanging out on. Contrasting paint colors, a flirty wallpaper, and stars-with-glasses images keep the mood light-hearted. Out front, laser-cut steel panel signage will rust over time.
